Elise first set sail on an environmental study abroad program where she lived on a 135′ tall ship and learned to sail as the ship crossed the Pacific from Hawaii to American Samoa. When she returned to Madison, Wisconsin to finish her degree, she pursued sailing lessons on 30′ keel boats and the local 12′ Badger Techs, and joined a rowing club in order to spend as much time as possible out on the water. Her nursing career brought her to Seattle, where she enjoys sailing, running, biking, and hiking.
