Jim grew up sailing on Lake Washington and Puget Sound in a 25’ trimaran he built with his father. He and his wife enjoy cruising their 42’ Grand Banks trawler in Washington and Canada. He has two sons that race FJs at the University of Washington. He also coaches several local high school sailing teams and is a frequent regatta photographer. His current sailboat is a 19’ lapstrake, gaff rig he built out of Alaska yellow cedar. Jim has a USCG 50 Ton Master License and is a US Sailing Level 2 certified instructor.
